We are delighted that the Africa Cybersecurity Resource Centre initiative, supported by the Africa Digital Financial Inclusion Facility (ADFI), has been chosen as 1 of just 6 projects within the theme of "Digital world: strengthening cybersecurity" for the 2021 Paris Peace Forum.
The Paris Peace Forum aims to demonstrate that in a deteriorated international environment it is still possible to advance governance solutions, scale-up projects and launch new initiatives. Since its creation, the Forum has supported and accompanied numerous projects that respond to the cross-border challenges of our time. This year, Space for Solutions, in a hybrid format, will host 80 projects tackling the issues at the heart of the 4th edition.
Following evaluation of all applications by the Selection Committee, ACRC was chosen as 1 of a total of 80 projects based on the quality of the projects as well as a geographical balance.
The Africa Cybersecurity Resource Centre (ACRC) is the first regional and sectorial organisation dedicated to improving cybersecurity and cyber-resilience for the financial sector, contributing to the protection of data and financial assets of over 2,500 micro finance institutions, banks, insurances, digital financial service providers, central banks, and their customers.
The initiative aims to secure the rapid development of digital financial systems and encourage financial inclusion, thus improving overall stability, and is currently being rolled out in West and East Africa.
