DFS Capacity Building Programme for Central Banks

Context

Digital financial solutions can help millions of excluded and underserved Africans to leapfrog challenges to inclusive digital financial services through instant, low-cost transactions.

However, Central Banks need to keep abreast of up-to-date knowledge and skills to effectively regulate and promote innovation for financial inclusion within Africa's rapidly evolving digital financial landscape.

Objectives

The DFS Capacity Building Programme for Central Banks is designed to provide training and insight for Central Banks to mitigate emerging risks within digital finance and to strengthen its oversight. The high-priority areas of the training are based on needs expressed by Central Banks.

This initiative is funded by the Korea-Africa Economic Cooperation Trust Fund (#KOAFEC) with technical and financial support from Africa Digital Financial Inclusion Facility (ADFI), both of which are housed and managed by the African Development Bank Group.
